Assamese music icon and actor Zubeen Garg’s final film, Roi Roi Binale, was screened in Dallas, Texas, on November 16 as part of its international premiere tour across the United States. The screening marked a significant cultural moment for Assamese expatriates, allowing fans abroad to experience the late artist’s last cinematic work and celebrate his enduring legacy.
The Dallas screening came just weeks after the film’s release in India, making it one of the fastest international rollouts for an Assamese film. The event drew attention from local Assamese communities, who gathered to honor Zubeen Garg’s contribution to music and cinema. Organizers noted that the film’s emotional narrative and Garg’s final performance resonated deeply with audiences, creating a sense of pride and nostalgia.
The international tour of Roi Roi Binale has included multiple cities in the US. Prior to Dallas, screenings were held in North Carolina on November 15. Other scheduled screenings include Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Austin, New Jersey, Boston on December 7, San Francisco on December 8, Seattle on December 13 and 14, and Los Angeles in January 2026. The wide tour reflects the growing appetite for regional Indian cinema among diaspora communities and highlights the global appeal of Assamese films.
