A major step forward has been made in the investigation into the death of popular singer and actor Zubeen Garg, as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Assam concluded a crucial meeting with the Singapore Police earlier today.
The two-member Assam Police team, led by SIT chief Munna Prasad Gupta and accompanied by police officer Arun Goel, held discussions with Singapore authorities for nearly three hours. The meeting mainly focused on reviewing the progress of the investigation and collecting important information related to the case.
According to sources, the discussion was detailed and covered several technical and procedural points. The Singapore Police briefed the visiting Indian officers about the evidence gathered so far, including the forensic findings, medical examination reports, and statements recorded after Zubeen’s sudden death in Singapore.
After the meeting, it was decided that the Singapore Police would prepare and submit a detailed report to the coroner within the next three months. The same report is also expected to be shared with the Assam SIT to support their ongoing probe back home.
Officials said that the Singapore authorities have assured full cooperation in the matter and have agreed to provide the specific documents and data requested by the Assam team. This includes official medical records, toxicology reports, and details of witness accounts collected during the initial phase of inquiry in Singapore.
The Assam Police team had travelled to Singapore on October 20, as part of their effort to directly coordinate with local authorities and gather updates that could help piece together the timeline of events leading to Zubeen Garg’s death.
