TMC leader Dulu Ahmed has warned Gauhati University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta. Ahmed, in a Facebook post, urged former Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta to intervene and convince the Vice-Chancellor to step down.
Speaking to Northeast Scoop, Ahmed said, “Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta sir, during the lockdown, you had promised to stand by the youth of Assam. Please also convince your brother, Gauhati University VC Nani Gopal Mahanta, to step down.”
Ahmed further said, “Otherwise, I will expose Nani Gopal Mahanta completely in court. He threatened to file a defamation case against me, but why has he remained silent till now? I am preparing to expose him myself.”
Ahmed also commented on broader governance issues. He praised the government’s efforts to improve the quality of RTI applications and said, “The quality of the RTI applications is very good. If the quality improves further, it will benefit the government.”
