A tragic incident occurred at Hmunthajao Waterfall under Harangajao police station in Dima Hasao district when three students from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar drowned while visiting the site.
Seven students had gone to the waterfall for a recreational trip. During the visit, three of them went missing after being swept away by strong water currents. The missing students have been identified as Radikha, 19, from Bihar; Sauhard Rai, 20, from Uttar Pradesh; and Sarvkritika, 20, also from Uttar Pradesh.
