In Gurugram, two Class 11 students allegedly shot at their classmate using a licensed pistol belonging to the father of one of the accused. Police said the 17-year-old victim is in critical condition and is being treated at a private hospital.

The incident took place late Saturday night at Central Park Resorts in Sector 48, a high-end residential complex. According to police, one of the accused had called the victim to an apartment rented by his father. The two boys, both classmates of the victim, reportedly had an argument a few days earlier, which police believe may have led to the attack.

In her complaint at the Sadar Police Station, the victim’s mother said the prime accused, whose father owns the pistol, called her son several times on Saturday evening asking him to meet. At first, the victim refused to go, but later agreed after repeated calls. The accused even came to the victim’s home to pick him up.

When the victim reached the apartment, he found another friend of the accused already there. It was then that the main accused allegedly took out his father’s licensed pistol and fired at the victim from close range. The gunshot left the teenager seriously injured.

Hearing the sound of the gunshot, people nearby rushed towards the apartment. Before police arrived, the injured boy was taken to Medanta Hospital by residents. Doctors have said that his condition remains critical.

A police team from Sadar Station reached the scene soon after receiving the call. The two accused have since been detained, and the weapon used in the crime has been recovered. Senior officers visited the housing society on Sunday morning to oversee the investigation.
