Garima Saikia Garg, wife of the late singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg, has once again demanded swift justice in connection with her husband’s untimely death. On Monday, she took to social media to say that justice must be served within 10 days.
In a Facebook post, Garima Garg wrote, “#we_Need_ZubeenGargJustice_within_10days,” urging authorities to conclude the investigation quickly. The post is part of a growing digital campaign by fans and well-wishers calling for transparency and urgency in the probe.
Despite her demand for speedy action, Garima Garg has consistently expressed faith in the ongoing investigation process. She has repeatedly stressed that while she trusts the authorities, a timely resolution is crucial to honor her husband’s legacy and provide closure to the family, friends, and fans.
Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Assam Police, set up to probe Zubeen Garg’s death, continues to work on the case. Special DGP Munna Prasad Gupta, head of the SIT, told News Live outside the CID headquarters in Guwahati that the team is working “day and night” to complete the investigation within the legal timeframe. “We will submit our report in court within the timeframe given to us by the legal system. We hope to take the investigations towards a logical conclusion,” Gupta said.
On Monday, three Assamese residents of Singapore – Jolongsat Narzary, Parikshit Sharma, and Siddharth Bora – appeared before the SIT for questioning. All three were reportedly present with Zubeen Garg during the yacht ride to Lazarus Island off the Singapore Strait, where the singer tragically passed away.
Rupkamal Kalita of Kahilipara, Guwahati, who also lives in Singapore and accompanied Zubeen Garg on the yacht, had earlier deposed before the SIT, becoming the first Singapore-based Assamese to cooperate with the investigation. The SIT chief added that another Singapore resident is expected to present himself for questioning soon.
