A foreign tourist has shared a disturbing experience on social media after attending the Post Malone concert in Guwahati, saying that she and her friend were touched without consent inside the crowded venue. The incident has now drawn public attention and has again raised questions about women’s safety at large public events in India.

The tourist, who goes by the name Emma and is travelling across Asia, posted a video on Instagram describing what happened during the concert on Monday night. In her post, she said that she and her friend Amina entered the main crowd area soon after the performance began, but they felt uncomfortable within a few minutes. She wrote that several men touched them repeatedly, and that it was not because of normal pushing in a crowded place.

According to Emma, the situation became so uncomfortable that both of them decided to move out of the main area and stand near the vendor section, as that part felt comparatively safer. She also wrote that the unfortunate experience spoiled their evening, and they could not enjoy the show from the front as they had planned earlier.

Emma mentioned that this kind of incident reflects a bigger issue related to women’s safety in public spaces. She wrote that no one should have to worry about harassment while attending music concerts or public events. She also added that women should not face a situation where they have to choose between enjoying a show and protecting themselves.

At the same time, both Emma and Amina clarified that their experience at the concert does not represent the people of Guwahati as a whole. Emma wrote that they have received kindness and warm hospitality from several people during their visit to the city. She also mentioned that many men at the venue helped them and tried to keep them safe after the incident. In her comments, Amina also thanked the people who stood by them and offered support.

The social media post has led to widespread discussion online. Many people expressed sadness and disappointment over the incident and demanded stricter crowd management and security measures at future events. Some others shared comments defending the city, saying that Guwahati is known for its friendly culture and that such acts should not overshadow the positive behaviour of many residents.

The Post Malone concert was one of the biggest international music events ever organised in the Northeast. The event attracted thousands of young people and music fans from across the region.
