The Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) has condemned the attack on the Assembly premises that took place on 29 November 2025. The matter was discussed in a special meeting of all parties convened by the Speaker of BTCLA on 30 November 2025, and the members unanimously adopted a resolution expressing serious concern over the incident.

According to the resolution, members of the Assembly said the attack was carried out by different students’ organisations backed by the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU). The Assembly condemned the incident in “the strongest words” and described the act as unjustifiable and cowardly. The members said the incident has raised fear that similar attacks might take place in the future if strong steps are not taken immediately.

The meeting urged the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) authority to take appropriate action against all individuals involved in the attack. The resolution said those behind the incident must be booked under the law and held accountable for causing damage to government property and disturbing the functioning of the Assembly. The members said firm legal measures are necessary to prevent any repeat of such acts.

The Assembly also requested the BTC authority to constitute a high-level committee to conduct an inquiry into the entire incident. Members said a detailed inquiry would help bring out the facts, identify the persons responsible and restore public confidence in the functioning of the institutions.
