Two young and talented girls from Bokakhat have made the town proud by securing places in the Assam team for the upcoming BCCI Under-23 girls’ T20 cricket tournament. Amantika Munda and Reema Pegu, both from Bokakhat, will represent Assam.

Amantika Munda, who has previously captained the Assam Under-19 women’s cricket team, brings a wealth of experience to the squad. Her journey in Assam cricket began in November 2022, when she was selected for the Assam Under-19 women’s team. She was among 11 players called for a trial-cum-selection camp at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara, Guwahati, ahead of the BCCI Women’s U-19 One Day Tournament 2022-23. The players were required to report by November 18, 2022, for the camp scheduled to start on November 19. Amantika’s leadership skills and cricketing talent have been widely appreciated in the cricketing circles of Assam.

Reema Pegu, another promising young cricketer from Bokakhat, has also earned a place in the Assam team. Though relatively new on the bigger state-level cricket stage, her consistent performance in local tournaments and training sessions has earned her recognition among selectors. Both girls are expected to play key roles for Assam in the BCCI Under-23 girls’ T20 tournament.
