In a heartfelt tribute to the valour and sacrifice of soldiers who fought in the 1962 India-China war, the Indian Army has organised a four-day ‘Shaurya Motorcycle Rally’ across Arunachal Pradesh. The rally, which began on October 14 from the Likabali Military Station in Lower Siang district, concluded on Friday at the under-construction Neelam Tebi War Memorial in Neelam village, Keyi Panyor district.
According to Army officials, the rally was aimed not only at honouring the war heroes but also at spreading a message of unity, patriotism, and national integration across the border regions of Arunachal Pradesh. The riders traversed through rugged mountain terrain, remote valleys, and historically significant routes once used during the 1962 conflict, symbolically retracing the footsteps of the brave soldiers who defended India’s frontiers.
During the journey, the rally participants interacted with local residents, school students, and ex-servicemen, highlighting the Army’s deep bond with the people of Arunachal Pradesh. Various cultural programmes and felicitation ceremonies were also organised at different halts, where tributes were paid to martyrs of the 1962 war.
