Zubeen Garg’s last film ‘Roi Roi Binale’ released across the state today and after watching the movie, Sibsagar MLA and Raijor Dal leader Akhil Gogoi said that Zubeen’s death is “deeply connected” to this film and that there is more to the tragedy than what the public knows.

Speaking to reporters early in the morning, Akhil Gogoi said that this movie is not only Zubeen’s final film but also a symbol of his dreams and struggles. He said the movie carries an emotion that will bring the people of Assam together in their demand for justice. Gogoi urged everyone to watch the movie and said that it will give strength to continue the fight for truth. His tone was emotional, and he spoke as a supporter and admirer of Zubeen, like thousands of others in the state who still cannot accept his loss.

Gogoi questioned the investigation into Zubeen’s death and said that the state government’s promise of filing a chargesheet soon is not convincing at all. He claimed that the police team that went to Singapore came back without strong evidence and that the government is trying to quickly close the case without giving real answers. He even suggested that the outcome of the case has already been decided behind closed doors and that it is being treated like a routine matter.

He also pointed out the legal procedures that investigators should have followed while collecting information from a foreign country. According to him, these steps were not properly followed, and this could make the case weak in court. He warned that the accused could easily get bail and the truth may remain hidden. Gogoi also compared this situation to the APSC scam case, where many suspects walked free after court decisions. His statements reflected the frustration and anger of many people who believe that Zubeen did not get justice.

Gogoi further said that he personally reached out to the CID and offered to give his own statement, but nobody contacted him back. He said the government is more focused on controlling the public sentiment than finding the real truth. He also hinted that the government may keep accused persons in custody until the elections just to show that action is being taken.
