Reliance Jio has started a large digital learning campaign across the North East to help college students understand and use artificial intelligence in their daily studies and future careers. The programme reached more than 100 colleges and educational institutes across Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura, making it one of the biggest student-focused AI initiatives in the region.
Senior Jio executives visited campuses and held simple, practical sessions on Google Gemini, Google’s latest and most advanced AI system. The sessions explained how AI tools can support students in writing assignments, preparing for exams, coding, designing, building project ideas, and getting ready for interviews. The focus was on showing students how AI can save time, improve skills, and open new learning opportunities.
As part of the initiative, Jio announced that the Google Gemini Pro plan will be available free to all active Jio Unlimited 5G users. The subscription, worth ₹35,100 for 18 months, gives access to Gemini 3 Pro, Nano Banana Pro for AI-based image creation, Veo 3.1 for video generation, NotebookLM for research work, and 2TB of cloud storage. Students can activate the plan quickly through the MyJio app and start using these advanced tools immediately.
During the campus visits, students were also offered Google Gemini 3 AI Pro free of cost and a special Jio SIM card for just Re. 1. Many students welcomed the opportunity to use high-end AI tools without any financial burden. Jio also encouraged students to join the JioAI Classroom Session, which comes with a skill certification from Jio Institute. This supports the New Education Policy’s goal of digital learning and upskilling.
