A day of major travel disruptions left hundreds of passengers stranded at two different airports on Wednesday, as IndiGo flights faced unexpected delays and cancellations. Travellers returning from Medina to Hyderabad, along with passengers at the Guwahati airport, reported long waits, confusion and a lack of clear information from the airline.

The first incident was reported at the airport in Medina, where passengers of IndiGo flight 6E 058 said they were kept waiting for hours without proper communication. Many of them were pilgrims returning from Mecca and Medina. Families, elderly passengers and women were seen sitting on the floor of the terminal, unsure of when they would be able to fly back to India. Videos on local news channels showed groups of stranded travellers raising concerns and demanding clarity from airline staff.

Several passengers said the uncertainty caused panic inside the terminal. They alleged that despite repeated questions, no one from the airline was able to give a proper update about the delay. For many, the long wait was stressful, especially after completing their religious journey and preparing to return home.

Around the same time, another major disruption unfolded at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. All IndiGo flights arriving at and departing from the airport were suddenly cancelled, leaving hundreds of travellers stuck inside the terminal. The decision reportedly came after issues related to flight takeoffs and landings, though airport officials did not specify the exact reason.

Passengers said they had already checked in, cleared security and reached their boarding gates when they were informed that their flights would not operate. This led to long queues, crowded airline counters and rising frustration among those waiting for an explanation. Some passengers complained that they kept waiting for hours with no proper announcements, while others said the lack of assistance added to their difficulties.
