Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma payinh tribute to the late singer Zubeen Garg urged the youth of the state to honour the legendary artist through positive actions rather than unhealthy habits.
Speaking both as the head of the state and as an individual, Sarma spoke about the importance of keeping Zubeen’s memory alive through acts of kindness. “The new generation should remember him not through drinking or such habits, but through good deeds like blood donation, helping poor children. In this way, we can keep Zubeen alive. We can keep Zubeen Garg alive for eternity,” he said.
Sarma claimed that Zubeen never liked alcohol. He alleged that some individuals around the singer had forced him to consume alcohol, taking advantage of his simple and trusting nature. “People had allegedly forced him to drink. Those around him, taking advantage of his simple and innocent nature, had forced him to consume alcohol as part of a conspiracy to misappropriate his wealth,” Sarma added. 
Zubeen Garg, widely regarded as one of Assam’s most celebrated cultural figures, passed away recently, leaving fans across the state in deep mourning. His songs and performances continue to resonate with people of all ages, and admirers are determined to keep his artistic legacy alive.
