Confusion and concern surfaced at some polling stations in Bihar as several voters reported being unable to cast their votes, claiming their ballots had already been recorded without their participation. https://www.youtube.com/embed/vQCNoXdQSDs?si=ilgvOA7uB9mmPqO1
Three voters, speaking to a reporter at different polling booths, said that when they went to cast their votes, officials told them their votes had already been cast. One voter said, “I went to cast my vote, but they told me it was already recorded. I didn’t even get the chance to vote.” Another added, “I showed my hand for ink, I had my documents ready, but they said my vote had been cast today.”
The voters described being asked to step aside by officials who insisted that their votes were already counted. “Someone was forcefully telling us, ‘Step aside from here,’” one voter said. “Even though we had Aadhar cards and all the necessary documents, we could not cast our votes.”
These incidents have raised concerns about the transparency and management of polling at some stations. Voters expressed frustration that despite following all procedures, they were unable to exercise their fundamental right to vote.
Election authorities have not yet issued a response to these claims.
