Churachandpur town will come to a temporary halt tomorrow as a mark of respect and mourning following the killing of four members of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA) in Khanpi, Henglep. The Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF) has announced a town-wide shutdown to honor the deceased.
According to the official notice issued by the ITLF, all shops, educational institutions, and offices in Lamka town will remain closed from 12:00 PM on Thursday, November 6, until the burial ceremony at KKL Cemetery is completed. The forum described the killings as “tragic and inhumane” and called for the shutdown as a sign of solidarity, remembrance, and deep respect for the victims.
