A senior representative from Bangladesh paid tribute to late singer Zubeen Garg at Zubeen Kshetra in Sonapur on Thursday. The Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Priti Rahman, visited the memorial and offered flowers in front of Zubeen’s statue. She also stood in silence for a few moments, remembering the beloved artist and showing deep respect on behalf of her country.

During her visit, Priti Rahman said that Zubeen Garg was not just a famous singer from Assam or India, but a true artist whose voice crossed borders. She said that Zubeen’s music touched hearts in Bangladesh as well, and many people there listened to him with great love. According to her, Zubeen’s songs carried strong feelings of humanity and emotion, and his melodies connected people from different places. She added that his voice had a special charm that could make anyone feel close to his music, no matter which country they belonged to.

Rahman also mentioned that when news of Zubeen Garg’s passing reached Bangladesh, many music lovers and artists there felt deep sadness. She said people in Bangladesh shared the grief just like the people of Assam and India did. The emotional bond created through Zubeen’s music showed that art and culture can bring countries and communities together, she said.
