Assam’s noted litterateur and Sahitya Akademi award-winning writer Rita Chowdhury appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Guwahati on Tuesday. She was summoned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case related to the death of celebrated singer Zubeen Garg.
According to official sources, Rita Chowdhury reached the CID office in the morning and was questioned by the SIT officials for several hours. The team sought details about her interaction with the late singer during what turned out to be his last interview, conducted only days before his untimely death.
Rita Chowdhury, known for her strong literary voice and honest social commentary, had also made a social media post earlier expressing her thoughts about the controversy surrounding the ‘Zubeen Khetra’ issue.
