Security forces in Arunachal Pradesh have busted a ULFA-I supply chain near the Myanmar border, arresting four individuals allegedly linked to the insurgent group. The operation, aimed at curbing cross-border smuggling and maintaining regional security, has also led to the seizure of a large quantity of medical supplies and other goods.
The action was carried out in Nampong, Changlang district, following credible intelligence that ULFA-I cadre SS Major General Arunodoi Dohutia had demanded medicines and other essential supplies from a resident of Tinsukia, Assam. Acting on this information, the Additional SP Hq, in coordination with the Arunachal Pradesh Police and the Indian Army, launched a targeted operation to intercept the supply chain.
Those arrested include Jitu Moran, also known as Moina, 50, from Hukani Gaon, Bordubi; Julie Gogoi, 38, a long-time grocery shop owner in Nampong; her husband Dipak Gogoi, 52, from Parbatipur, Jagun; and Yanshay Sokrang from Pangsau, Myanmar. In addition, four Myanmarese nationals were detained for allegedly transporting goods to ULFA camps across the border.
