A representative delegation of the All Hindi-Speaking Youth Students’ Council (AHYCP) met Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Hagrama Mohilary today to discuss important issues concerning the Hindi-speaking community in the BTC region. The delegation submitted a memorandum urging the nomination of Members of Council Legislative Assembly (MCLAs) from the Hindi-speaking community.

The delegation was led by Ramnivas Kumar, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the AHYCP, along with Gopal Prasad, President of the Kokrajhar District Committee. Representatives from Kokrajhar, Chirang, Udalguri, Baksa, and Tamulpur district committees were also present during the meeting. The memorandum emphasized the need for proper representation of the Hindi-speaking community in BTC governance and sought the nomination of MCLAs from this community.

During the meeting, the delegation also conveyed their greetings to Chief Hagrama Mohilary on the occasion of Chhath Puja. In response, Chief Mohilary assured the delegation that the Hindi-speaking community would indeed have MCLAs nominated in BTC. He also announced a financial grant of ₹20,000 for each of the 120 Chhath Puja committees across the BTC area, aiming to support the festival celebrations and cultural activities of the community.

The delegation expressed satisfaction over the positive response from Chief Mohilary and appreciated his assurance for inclusive representation. They highlighted that recognition and support for the Hindi-speaking community in BTC would strengthen communal harmony and ensure better participation in local governance. The financial assistance for Chhath Puja committees was welcomed as a timely measure to support cultural and religious activities in the region.
