Preliminary investigations estimate that this illegal activity resulted in a staggering tax evasion of approximately Rs. 83 crores.

In a major crackdown on tax evasion, the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI), Guwahati Zonal Unit, has arrested Shri Mukesh Agarwal, 46, for orchestrating large-scale illegal business operations in Assam. Agarwal, identified as the main operator behind M/s Balaji Concast and M/s Balaji Steel Rolling Mills, was found to have secretly manufactured and supplied MS Ingots and TMT Bars without issuing proper GST invoices.
