Bowlers shine as India inch closer to series win against West Indies

Jasprit Bumrah led the charge with figures of 3 for 44 in 17.5 overs, displaying both accuracy and control.

The Indian bowling attack showed remarkable patience and skill on a flat and unhelpful track as they pushed West Indies to the limit on the fourth day of the second Test in New Delhi. Despite the surface offering little assistance, India’s bowlers held their nerve and discipline to leave the hosts within touching distance of a 2–0 series win.

At stumps, India stood at 63 for 1, chasing a modest target of 121. They now need just 58 more runs on the final day to seal a clean sweep over a determined West Indies side that refused to give up without a fight.

Jasprit Bumrah led the charge with figures of 3 for 44 in 17.5 overs, displaying both accuracy and control. He was ably supported by left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who bowled a long spell to claim 3 for 104 from 29 overs. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, known for his tireless work ethic, contributed with one wicket in 33 overs while conceding 102 runs. Mohammed Siraj, bowling with good pace and intent, picked up 2 for 43 in 15 overs, and Washington Sundar chipped in with a wicket after a long spell of 23 overs.

The Indian bowlers had to work hard across 118.5 overs as the West Indies batsmen dug in deep, showing grit and resilience. Despite the slow pitch and scorching heat, India maintained steady pressure throughout the day. The key breakthrough came when Bumrah produced a perfect yorker to dismiss the well-set batter, swinging the momentum back in India’s favor.
