A wave of violence struck the Assam-Nagaland border at Sarupathar on Friday, as unidentified Naga miscreants set fire to Tengatal Jalal, a minority-dominated settlement. The entire village was reportedly burned down in the attack.

Following the arson, attackers allegedly resorted to gunfire and grenade explosions, leaving several residents injured. The victims, mostly from the minority community, have been rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Security forces, including the CRPF, faced obstruction from the attackers when trying to enter the village to restore order. Local authorities have condemned the incident and appealed for calm, while investigations are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible.
